A LITERATURA NO MEDIEVO PORTUGUÊS: O AMBIENTE QUE PROPRICIOU A PRODUÇÃO DA CRÓNICA DE D. JOÃO I

Resumo: Este trabalho tem como objetivo compreender a gradativa relevância que os textos literários adquiriram em Portugal, a partir do estabelecimento do poder régio (centralização monárquica). Diversas narrativas distintas em suas estruturas e formulações foram produzidas no Medievo Português, elas possuem vinculações de padrões sócioculturais que nos permitiu refletir sobre as relações de poder em Portugal nos séculos XIV e XV. De forma gradativa a literatura foi ganhando importância no reino luso, o que ocasionou a produção da Crónica de D. João I no século XV. Assim, para exempleficarmos o ambiente literário português realizamos uma análise da estrutura da Crónica de D. João I, texto escrito por Fernão Lopes. Com isso, buscamos entender como a elaboração de obras literárias dialogaram com a sociedade portuguesa através de discursos que tinham como objetivo produzir sujeitos e uma memória coletiva, e legitimar o poder régio.

Abstract: This article has the objective the understand the gradual relevance that literary texts acquired in Portugal, after the establishment of royal power (monarchical centralization). Several narratives, distinct in their structures and formulations, were produced in the Portuguese Middle Ages. They are linked to sociocultural patterns that allowed us to reflect on power relations in Portugal in the 14th and 15th centuries. Literature gradually gained importance in the Portuguese kingdom, which led to the production of the Crónica de D. João I in the 15th century. Thus, to exemplify the Portuguese literary environment, we carried out an analysis of the structure of the Crónica de D. João I, a text written by Fernão Lopes. With this, we seek to understand how the elaboration of literary works dialogued with Portuguese society through discourses that aimed to produce subjects and a collective memory, and to legitimize royal power.
