CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ARTISANAL FISHING AND MORPHOMETRIC RELATION OF THE LOBSTER IN COAST OF THE PERNAMBUCO, BRAZIL

Abstract

This study was the result of monitoring of 06 shipments in lobster´s artisanal fleet of the State of Pernambuco, Brazil. In which the vast majority doing the fishing denominated "going and coming", leaving at dawn and returning in the evening, usually. The traps used in the State are traditionally made of mangrove´s wood and covered with plastic screen. Of the 115 lobsters captured in this study, 98 individuals were Panulirus argus (red) and 17 were Panulirus laevicauda (green), representing a relative frequency of 82.65% and 17.35% respectively. The sex ratio for green had a higher number of females, 58%. However, for the red species the number of male individuals was higher, 54%. Of greens lobsters fished, 94.1% was lower than the allowed size, while for red, 86.7% were illegal catch sizes. The calculation of linear regression revealed the following: length of the abdomen (CA) x height of cephalothorax (AC), length of the abdomen (CA) x length of the cephalothorax (CC) and length of the cephalothorax (CC) x height of cephalothorax (AC ), with a R² = 0.93 for CA x AC, R² = 0,89 for CA x CC e R² = 0,89 for the relation CC x AC. The equations of the lines for relations: CA x AC, CA x CC e CC x AC, are respectively: (Y = 2,233 . X + 1,122), (Y = 0,539 . X + 0,013) e (Y = 0,713 . X + 0,204).
