BABASSU COCONUT BREAKERS AND THE PROTECTION LAWS: A DISCOURSE ANALYSIS

Abstract

The process of women babassu coconut breakers gaining rights in the constitutional sphere represents a history of persistence to achieve recognition of rights to spaces that are fundamental for the continuity of their cultural and identity practices, also their economic activities. Based on this idea, this paper seeks to answer the question: what are the effects of meaning constructed in texts that address laws protecting babassu coconut breakers? Therefore, it aims to analyze the effects of meaning presented in texts that deal with the protective laws for babassu coconut breakers. To do so, it used the methodology of bibliographic research of qualitative approach along with the method of discourse analysis based on the productions of Michel Pêcheux.
