Ana Clara, a character by Lygia Fagundes Telles, in As Meninas, and Clarice, a character by Adriana Lisboa, in Sinfonia em branco, share similar traumatic experiences: both were sexually assaulted in childhood. In view of the incessant remembrance of the traumatic time by the characters, we seek to understand, in the light of a comparative analysis, the temporal aspects attributed to the characters, which particularize each of them in their respective stories, as well as the configurations of narrative time and its aesthetic effects. The work is based on Cathy Caruth's research on trauma, as well as on Márcio Seligmann-Silva's studies on trauma and memory.
